As you are aware that during the week-long Eid period that has just finished, port delivery operations were greatly reduced with very few clients picking up their cargo. Also in this period, BGT worked normally apart from a short period to allow our staff to celebrate the great event with their families.
As such BGT handled approximately 8,000 TEUs in this period to keep the operation going and of course with very few deliveries.
As expected the last week has seen a huge activity whereby clients are rushing to release cargo and as such we are seeing some delays in truck arrivals into the port whilst we get on top of the backlog. BGT has discussed with the Port Authority and Customs to assist in maximizing working hours to ensure we get back to normal BGT delivery times within the next few days.
We thank you for your patience and we are working at full speed to get everything back to normal operational levels.
