Over the last few days, there have been anti-government protests in Basra over lack of water and electricity and general conditions.
The port in Umm Qasr has been very quiet and working normally until this evening when a small protest occurred. To ensure the safety of the port, the Authorities have closed the port access to everyone and as such no operations are possible this evening. We hope things will revert back to normal by morning so normal operations can continue. As such we will revert with an updated status first thing in the morning after we have seen the effect. As such there may be some delays but we will be able to advise further tomorrow.
