Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of the Sacrifice, is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide every year. An important part of the holiday celebration is the sharing of meat, particularly with the less-fortunate members of the community.
In the spirit of Eid al-Adha, Basra Gateway Terminal (BGT) held its annual tradition of sharing meat to families in Umm Qasr. BGT employees committed time outside of work hours to prepare and distribute meat packets to the locals as part of giving back to the community.
“BGT treasures its strong relations with the local Umm Qasr community. Our staff continues this annual tradition as part of honoring the human connection with the people around the terminal. This activity also serves as a good opportunity for members of our staff to strengthen their bonds,” said Marko Miskovic, BGT commercial director.
